A well designed swimming pool is a wonderful addition to a garden and should be valued as an ornamental feature that is integrated into the fabric of the garden.  Practical considerations of maintenance, kit, power and safety will all be accounted for, but the main determinant should be FUN!  Planting around a pool can help soften the visual impact of the hard landscaping, as well as delineating and signposting routes around the water.  Routes between changing rooms and the pool will be designed through consideration of surfacing, distance and safety.
