Cottage Garden

Detailing traditional features

This beautiful grade II listed cottage in the Surrey Hills required updating to meet the needs of its new owners.  While improving the front garden and adding more planting space it was decided to move the driveway entrance further from the house and away from a road junction for safety reasons.  This required planning permission due to listed status and so we ushered the project through, fulfilling all requirements of documentation, plans and construction details.  Materials and building methods needed to be sympathetic to existing features which included interesting walling methods using a mix of local materials.  Planting was kept to a cottage garden style with a good mix of herbaceous and shrubs planting.
