Al fresco living in central London

This house in central London had a major refurbishment, creating a modern rear elevation with impressive sliding glass doors that led into the garden. This outdoor space was built entirely over the basement which created many challenges to the design and construction of the new garden, including weight loading issues and drainage.

The clients’ wished to have an al fresco dining and entertaining space that reflected their mediterranean roots and have a continuation of the living space that extended the these areas directly into the garden. Lush jungle style planting and water were also desired and so a living wall and elegant stainless steel water feature were constructed on the rear boundary.
