Designing a country garden is about connection.  A country garden should be a place, rather than just a space, with the local vernacular, history and ecology informing the design process.  Views beyond the garden should be incorporated to include ‘borrowed’ landscape.  However, this does not limit a country garden to traditional design as a more modern aesthetic may be achieved through layout, planting choice and materials.
